Well we’ve done it! A whole weekend with no fire or trips to hospitals. Yay!

In fact, we had a lovely weekend. On Sunday we went on some calls and then had a coffee at the Top Shop.

Lilly played with Elmo in the back yard while I moved the lawn and fixed up the back fence. Reilly sowed dresses for Lilly to take to Darwin. I took Lilly to Broken Head beach and we had a nice play in the sand. Lilly even braved the water but I chickened out.

I’m uploading a little video soon.

We have a gallbladder with lots of little stones in it. The doctor recommends removing the gallbladder, but as it isn’t life threatening, it’ll mean going on the waiting list.

In the meantime she can have more attacks at any time. Yay!

So, back home and wait!

So this morning it was decided Reilly needed an ultrasound, bit as there wasn’t enough staff available to accompany her across the road to the radiology place, they instead used Byron Bay’s only ambulance to take her all the way up to Tweed hospital instead.

That’s 65 kilometers instead of 150 meters. Yes I hear you, makes perfect sense!

Good news so far is that they think she may have passed the stone and not need surgery.

Here’s hoping.

It’s 1 in the morning (Monday morning) in what is proving to be yet another eventful weekend. We had a nice movie night on Saturday night and a lovely relaxing weekend off. Our convention was this weekend, but as we are going to the Darwin convention, we had the week off.

But just to throw a spanner in the works, Reilly fell really ill tonight. So much so that she collapsed and I had to take her to emergency. Looks like she’s got gall stones. The doctor has said that they’ll do an ultrasound in the morning, but that she’ll likely be transported to Tweed and have her gall bladder taken out there. Poor thing, at the rate she’s going, she won’t have any body parts left soon.

All jokes aside, quite a worrying turn of events and the poor thing is in a lot of pain. She was understandably quite emotional about things.

I’ll keep you all up to date as I find out more in the morning, but for now I’m going to get some shuteye. think I’ll be needing the energy in the next couple of days to take care of my girls.

Had a lovely weekend again. Two weekends in a row. If we’re not careful we’ll be making a habit out of it!

I spent the day Saturday with my little Lilly while Reilly was out at the gym and catching up with Karen.

We had a lazy morning. Made some breakfast and then went to the park.

After that we had a nice little drive to Ballina to buy a few things and take Lilly to Hungry Jack’s. She had a meal and I had a Coke Zero. No meal for me if I want to loose the padding.

Then after the meeting we went to the Deck restaurant with a few others (Wayne and Vicky Begg, Wally and Wendy Leeke, Bob and Lynn McTavish, Karen and John Fulton, Sean and us).

This morning we went out witnessing with Fletch and then went to Karen and John’s farm with the Townends, and we had a picnic there.

Poppa John took all the kids for a ride on his Harley. They loved it.

All in all a great weekend. Then, as we got home and I opened the front door, I was greeted by a familiar yet disturbing smell, the smell of smoke!

The stove had decided to short out and the stovetop was quite literally red hot. Bright orange would be more accurate. It’s supposed to have a thermal safety switch that stops it from overheating even if you accidentally leave it on, but no, the toughened glass that the electric burners sit in had completely shattered and the stove was slowly burning through the back of the wooden bench top.

We got home just in time. I reckon a few minutes more and the wood would’ve gone from smoldering to flaming.

Yet, remarkably we all remained calm and I switched the power of at the mains. Waited about an hour for things to cool down enough to be able to touch it. Cleaned it up after removing the stovetop and now we have a nice hole where the stovetop used to be and the house smells like we’ve been smoking salmon.

All in all, still a good weekend, but with a bit of excitement to finish it off. Ah yes, live at the Scholtens’ is never dull!

Just finished the first nice and quiet weekend in a long time. I had the Talk in Brunswick Heads on Sunday morning, so we went to the park at Brunswick Heads after and let Lilly have a good old run around and had some lunch there. It was a lovely sunny day for it.

We then had a nice dinner and watched a movie with Sean after Lilly had gone to bed.

Saturday we had a nice sleep in and a croissant for brekkie, after which we headed to Ballina for a few things and then met Sean at the warehouse where I helped him put up another wall.

Just nice and relaxed though.

Yes, with going to pre-school, the dreaded school photos are an anually reocurring episode.

Let’s face it:

A: School photos are over prized!

B: Most of us look at our school photo’s and hate them!

C: Every year we fill out the form, give them the money and buy the photo, despite A and B.

So here they are. I don’t particularly like the photo of Lilly. She looks different from the Lilly I know and love for some reason. Not sure what mister photographer did. It almost looks like he’s stretched her face a bit in photoshop?

We had a lot of visitors, The Swiss were here for ten days and then the last four days we had Kelly, Tracy and Paul from Scotts Head stay with us also.

They are always a joy to have here. They are the best guests! They bring food and drinks with them, are great conventionalists and just pleasant to have around, and are no burden whatsoever. Yet they have very strong characters and are anything but boring!

After two weeks of visitors, it’s nice to have the house back to ourselves though.

This morning I did my first session with a trainer. Joined the gym to shed some of the accumulated body mass. Mate, I’m in pain now. But it’s good pain!

Cheers

Seb
